Apparently Julia Roberts wants to be in it…
Steven Knight, the man responsible for bringing us Peaky Blinders, and his executive producer Caryn Mandabach have revealed the prospect of a cinema spin-off is highly possible for the show.Â
Like most show runners, Knight wants to see his creation come to life on the silver screen. Hopefully, the new flick will see Cillian Murphy pick up an Oscar.
Speaking to Digital Spy, Mandabach also addressed rumours of a possible co-star collaboration with none other than Pretty Woman herself, Julia Roberts:
“We did have a conversation about potentially doing a movie,” Mandabach said.
“There are many people in America that love Peaky Blinders and plenty of movie stars that want to be in the movie. We heard Julia [Roberts] wants to do it – but this is hearsay… I don’t really know for sure.”
While this is something both want to see in the future, Mandabach insists that, at least for now, the TV show will be her top priority.
“Thank God for Netflix” she said, “But it’s a very important thing to us, the BBC.”
The new season of Peaky Blinders begins on Thursday, May 5 at 9pm. You can catch up on Netflix, or at the BBC Store.
