The awards nominations are unveiled in February
The Unforgivable is the latest Netflix hit that everyone’s talking about.
It’s the story of a former prisoner who was in jail for murder who’s trying to forge a new life. She’s called Ruth Slater and is played by Bird Box actor Sandra Bullock.
Viewers have been calling the new release a “must watch” since it dropped on the streaming platform over the weekend – and now one particular scene has audiences declaring that Bullock should get another Oscar.
The bit that’s getting all the love is an explosive argument featuring co-star Viola Davis. The pair are shouting at one another as Viola’s character Liz Ingram argues Ruth is playing the victim for her own gain.
“John looks and you and sees someone who deserves a second chance. I don’t see that. I hear someone who will say anything to get exactly what she wants,” says Ingram in the powerful scene.

Next year, the Oscars ceremony takes place on March 27 and nominations will be announced on February 8.
Netflix’s description of the film reads: “Released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime, Ruth Slater re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past.
“Facing severe judgment from the place she once called home, her only hope for redemption is finding the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind.”
Other films tipped to be getting Oscar nods next year include Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog, about an American ranchman played by Benedict Cumberbatch who’s struggling with his identity.
King Richard, the biographical drama about Richard Williams, the father of tennis stars Williams sisters, is also tipped for Oscars success.
Sandra Bullock won the Best Actress gong in 2010 for The Blind Side, a drama based on a true story about a caucasian family that adopted a homeless African-American teenager who went on to become a professional NFL football player.
