His talk show didn’t register a single viewer for half of its broadcast on Tuesday
Piers Morgan’s new TalkTV show has seen its viewing figures plummet to rock bottom just days after the host had bragged on Twitter about its ratings.
‘Piers Morgan: Uncensored’ is meant to be one of the new channel’s flagship shows, with Morgan hired as one of the big names to launch the channel.
On its launch day, the talk show had 316,000 viewers. But these ratings have slumped on a daily basis, and on Wednesday the show had an average of just 62,000 viewers, the Guardian reports.
The ratings were so low on Tuesday that for half of its broadcast, the show did not register a single viewer in official ratings.
Whilst this doesn’t mean absolutely no one was watching, it does mean the audience was so small that it was not picked up by the official rating agency, the Broadcasters’ Audience Research Board.
After the show’s launch, which featured an interview with former US president Donald Trump, Morgan had taken to Twitter to brag about its success.
BREAKING NEWS: @PiersUncensored got bigger ratings at 8-9pm last night than BBC News, Sky News and GB News…. COMBINED!!! What a start – thanks for watching!

But just four days later he told his followers that “linear TV [is] increasingly irrelevant to total eyeball potential for a global show like this, especially with younger viewers who don’t really watch TV any more.”
He was retweeting a claim from News UK that the first week of his show delivered “in excess of 64 million online views.” It is not clear how the broadcaster has worked out this figure.
INSANE numbers.. just shows that content really is king, and can be consumed in so many different ways now. Linear TV increasingly irrelevant to total eyeball potential for a global show like this, especially with younger viewers who don’t really watch TV any more. https://t.co/uizrMcx24k

TV critic Scott Bryan pointed out that on the evening of May 4, more people tuned in for a repeat of “World’s Most Dangerous Roads” on Yesterday than for ‘Piers Morgan: Uncensored.’
FYI…
More people watched a repeat of "World's Most Dangerous Roads" on Yesterday than P**** on TalkTV.

And it seems like the pally relationship between Morgan and Donald Trump is at an end, with the former president claiming the early viewing figures were down to him and that the show has now “bombed completely because of the fake narrative” Morgan tried to portray.
NEW!
President Donald J. Trump:
“Ratings for the Piers Morgan interview with me were great! Unfortunately, after that interview, his show bombed completely because of the fake narrative he tried to portray. The fact is, I got a new close-up glimpse at Piers, and he no longer… pic.twitter.com/m2owkGScBo

Trump walked out of the interview with Morgan when the host told him the 2020 election had not been rigged.
