“They don’t pretend to be news.”

Since it first arrived on Netflix in 2016, The Crown has been one of the most watched and talked about shows on the streaming platform.

Over the years many spokespeople for the royal family have said that the show is completely inaccurate and a dishonest representation of the family and their history.

However Prince Harry isn’t so fervent in this view. In fact, he thinks it’s a pretty good portrayal of royal life.

During an interview with James Corden on the Late Late Show, the Prince said: “They don’t pretend to be news, it’s fictional but it’s loosely based on the truth.

“Of course it’s not strictly accurate, but, loosely, it gives you a rough idea about what that lifestyle, what the pressures of putting duty and service above family and everything else, what can come from that.”

This comes shortly after an unearthed Vanity Fair interview with Harry’s aunt, Princess Anne, did the rounds, showing that she supported his decision to resign his royal duties in favour of spending more time with his wife and children.

“I think it was probably easier for them, and I think most people would argue that there are downsides to having titles. So I think that was probably the right thing to do,” Anne said.

Having spent his whole life in the limelight and tragically losing his mother when her car crashed trying to escape the paparazzi, and went on to say that he has fewer problems with the show and more with how he and his wife are portrayed in today’s media.

“I am way more comfortable with The Crown than I am seeing the stories written about my family, or my wife or myself,” he said.

Harry and Meghan’s tell-all interview with Oprah airs next weekend.
