The follow-up to the much-loved first season arrives at Halloween.

Shawn Levy has spilled a few more details about the second season of Stranger Things, which arrives on Netflix at Halloween.

Speaking on the GoldDerby podcast, a cagey Levy was giving little away but he did still provide a minor insight to what can be expected.

“I’m so forbidden to say so very much,” Levy explained, adding, “Will Byers is very much at the centre of several intersecting challenges and threats in season two.

“And I think overall the kind of forces of evil that are inherent in season 2 make that Demogorgon look quaint in retrospect.”

Levy spoke about the massive success of the show’s first run.

“It’s been pretty thrilling. I knew the script was amazing, and I knew the show wasn’t obvious in any way.

“We tried and set out to make something cool, and the fact that it’s received this recognition, and this level of popularity, is icing. It’s definitely a lot of icing on the cake.”

Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, revealed earlier this month:,”I think this (second) season will be a lot [darker]. A lot more horror-oriented. I think people are going to like it more than the first season.”
