Former S Club 7 singer Rachel Stevens has revealed she’s been in talks to join EastEnders.

The singer, actress and former Guinness World Record Holder (Most Public Appearances by a Pop Star in 24 Hours in Different Cities, for you pub quiz fans) spoke to The Sun about the possibility of a cameo in Albert Square.

Stevens, who shot to fame as part of S Club 7, spoke of her desire to reach for the stars and pop up in the soap. “There’s been talks about EastEnders in the past, which would be really fun to do a cameo role in, or something that would be unexpected or different”.

Describing the opportunity to take rub shoulders with the Mitchell’s as “amazing”, Rachel could be the next in the line of former pop stars who have made the jump to British soaps.

And while a Eastenders spokesperson told the Daily Mirror there were “no current plans” to cast Rachel, don’t stop, or ever give up on the hope of it happening. What? You’ve never had a dream come true?
