Male model Ricki Hall faced a barrage of mockery and criticism for claiming that homeless people inspire his look…
The model, who is famed for his hipster tattoos and hipster beard and hipster style – but doesn’t like being referred to as a hipster – was interviewed for a Sunday Times feature called ‘A Life in the Day of model hipster, Ricki Hall’.
Hall is quoted as saying: “I use this time to think about my day. I take style tips from everything, even kids to homeless people. They can pull anything together and it just works.”
His words echo those of Zoolander‘s Mugatu, who creates a fashion label “inspired by the very homeless, the vagrants, the crack whores that make this wonderful city so unique.”
Twitter was on wonderful form in lampooning the pomposity and insensitivity of the quotes:

I used to want an end to homelessness but, if that happened, where would #RickiHall get his style tips from?
