Red Dead Redemption 2 is such a huge game, it may have broken a current generation record

Yikes. Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to be HUGE

Say goodbye to your friends.

Say goodbye to your family.

Bid a sweet farewell to your loving partner.

Leave your job and never look back.

This is your life now, and things will never be the same again.

We’d already reported that the main campaign of Red Dead Redemption 2 was going to be in excess of 60 hours all by itself, but we also know that this series is never just about the main mission.

Early imagery of the RDR2 physical copy shows that the game will actually be arriving on TWO DISCS.

The game will require around 100GB of memory on both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which is why the extra data disc is most likely in there. Otherwise you’ll be left with a momentous amount of downloading to do just to get started.

The folks at Eurogamer talked about the two-disc situation with Digital Foundry’s John Linneman, who is an expert in these things, and he’s 99% sure that this is the first time a current-gen game arrived on two discs.

Red Dead Redemption II will be available to purchase on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One from Friday 26 October.
