Could the legendary character actually be coming back?
Pat Phelan is currently the number one bad guy on Corrie, it’s likely he’ll go on to be considered a legendary character in years to come, however he’ll do well to eclipse Platt family terroriser Richard Hillman.
Although he’s been presumed dead for some years, Richard Hillman now looks set to return to the cobbles, delivering Gail a message from beyond the grave.
Actor Sophie Thompson, who will play a new character, Rosemary, has teased more about Richard Hillman’s comeback – saying the storyline will begin with a mysterious voice message.
Speaking to the Metro, Sophie explained: “Richard Hillman is the key to this because Gail starts to think he’s cursed the family and obviously things aren’t going great for them!
“I think it’s genuinely disturbing. Obviously this guy was not a very nice person and affected her life quite profoundly.
“To hear even his name must chill her bones. She’s disturbed. It’s like you want to know more, but you don’t want to know – she’s in that place at the moment – with very mixed feelings.”
One of the main clues about what might be about to go on is that Rosemary’s job is as a clairvoyant – could that mean they end up speaking to Hillman from beyond the grave?
