Rick and Morty creator explains the whole truth about why Season 4 is being delayed

Paul Moore

Fans have been panicking about the future of the superb show but things are a lot clearer now. Wubba lubba dub dub!

While it doesn’t soften the blow that comes with waiting for new episodes of Rick and Morty, fans of the show will find some comfort in knowing that somewhere in the multiverse, there’s an alternate universe where right now, Rick is probably stuffing Mega Seeds up Morty’s rectum while they discuss the plot for Alien Invasion Tomato Monster Mexican Armada Brothers Who Are Just Regular Brothers Running In A Van From An Asteroid And All Sorts Of Things The Movie.

Truth be told, every fan of the show is just itching to see the latest adventure of Rick C-137 because while the last season wasn’t as good as the previous seasons, it was still brimming with superb episodes.

You could argue that The Ricklantis Mixup is the best episode in the show’s history while The Rickshank Redemption, Morty’s Mind Blowers, and Pickle Rick were also extremely good.

Granted, we’re no doubt that Rick and Morty will be back on the air – hell, it has one of the most loyal and rabid fanbases around as seen by the whole Szechuan Sauce debacle – but the future of the show has been thrown into some jeopardy, as previously reported.

Taking to Twitter, Dan Harmon reported that Adult Swim hasn’t ordered any new episodes yet while Justin Roiland also weighed in on the issue.

Harmon elaborated on this situation during his recent guest spot on Kevin Smith’s SModcast – sidenote: it’s great to see Silent Bob in good health after his recent health scare – and Harmon revealed the whole truth regarding the confusion over Season 4.

“The reason we’re not working on Rick and Morty right now ain’t because I figured out that I don’t need to impress you. It’s because of a little something called contract negotiations and it’s gotten complicated this time around,” he said.

Since being launched, the show has always had a cult following but the period between the releases of Season 2 and 3 helped to move Rick and Morty into the stratosphere. Given the fact that the show’s fanbase has only grown since then, these contract delays seem inevitable but if we were the executives at Adult Swim, we’d be giving these guys anything that they want.

As for these contract negotiations, we reckon Harmon might actually use Rick’s line and tell the network that “I’m sorry Adult Swim, your opinion means very little to me.”

We’ll let have Mr. Poopy Butthole have the last word on this issue: ” What did you do while you were waitin’? Hopefully, you didn’t just f*ck around and waste your life, ooh-wee! See ya for Season 4 in like, a really long time. I-I might even have a big white Santa Claus beard. And uh and uh a couple of grand kids and all that kind of stuff, see ya then!”

We’ve no doubt that Rick and Morty will be back, but fans might have to wait a while.
