It's been more than a decade since she left the soap.

It’s been more than a decade since Shelley Unwin graced the cobbles.

Now the actress who played the Rovers Return barmaid, Sally Lindsay, has hinted she could make a possible return to Corrie in the future.

Speaking in an interview with Woman’s Own magazine:

“I always say never say never but at the moment, no, I love Coronation Street and I had a wonderful time there.

“I don’t watch it now though, it’s like looking at your old workplace.

“I used to be a massive fan before but I find it very difficult to believe because I’ve been there.”

When the 43-year-old left in 2006 Shelley had become a firm favourite with fans of the soap. And even though ten years have lapsed since, the actress said to some fans she will always be known as Shelley from Corrie.

She said:

“I get the odd person who is such a die-hard fan that you’ll never be anything else.

“So if I won an Oscar I’d still be Shelley and I’m absolutely fine with that!”
