There’s no denying that Game of Thrones has grown to become a global phenomenon.
Millions of fans around the world know each character intimately.
But you’ll be surprised to know that the characters (or, at least their actors) exist outside of Westeros in the real world.
That still doesn’t stop it blowing people’s minds when they see Tyrion Lannister doing his shopping or Gregor ‘The Mountain’ Clegane lovingly petting a tiny dog.
Fans are still trying to get over the fact that Lord Varys actually has a full, thick head of hair in real life or that Septa Unella (the one who likes to shout ‘shame’) isn’t a stony-faced nun but in fact a vivacious and beautiful woman away from the show.

So just imagine what would happen if one of Game of Thrones’ most prominent characters went and got a new hair style.
You know, someone like Sansa Stark who is instantly recognisable for her long, luxuriant ginger locks. People would go bananas.

Well she did….and they did.
Sophie Turner, who plays the oldest Stark daughter who we last saw helping Jon Snow liberate Winterfell and the North from the clutches of Ramsay Bolton, has gone blonde.
We’re not sure if she’s trying to emulate a certain dragon-wielding Targaryen or if she wanted the latest Lannister look, but she looks very different to her character in the show now.

She doesn’t even give fans a reason why, simply commenting ‘I did a thing’ which got her 328,000 Instagram likes for the trouble.
We don’t know if it’s Game of Thrones related, whethere she’s taking the piss or if she’s got a new film role that requires her to be blonde.
Fans were losing their shit over it though…
