Donald Glover stays winning.
FX have announced the return of Childish Gambino’s critically acclaimed comedy series Atlanta.
Titled “Robbin’ Season”, the second series of the show created by and starring Childish Gambino (real name Donald Glover) will premiere in the United States on FX on Thursday, March 1st, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT.
Highly anticipated from the moment it was announced, the finale of the first series seems like it was forever ago. Why? Because it’s arguably one of the best TV shows of the past 10 years.
Don’t believe me? Just take a gander at the awards it’s won already:
- American Film Institute Award
- Critics’ Choice Television Award
- 2x Golden Globe Awards
- Gotham Independent Film Award
- NAACP Image Award
- Peabody Award
- 2x Primetime Emmy Awards
- Producers Guild of America Award
- 2x Writers Guild of America Awards
- 2x TCA Awards
The story of two cousins navigating their way through the Atlanta rap scene in an effort to improve their lives and the lives of their families, it further proves Glover’s genius that dates back to his time as a writer on 30 Rock and an actor on Community.
Aside from his work on TV, Glover is also a stand up comic, has starred in movies such as Spider-Man: Homecoming, Magic Mike XXL and will soon appear as a young Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and is a Grammy Award-winning musician.
Is there anything he can’t do? Doubtful, I’d say.
