An old clip of Jim Carrey accepting an award on stage has resurfaced after the actor and comedian claimed he would have had Will Smith “arrested” and “sued for $200 million” following his slapping of Chris Rock at the Oscars.
The footage is taken from the MTV Movie Awards ceremony back in 1997, when Carrey – 35 at the time – suddenly kissed a then-19-year-old Alicia Silverstone after getting up on stage to accept the award.

Moreover, multiple other clips of Carrey’s behaviour on live TV are now circulating which are causing others to question whether he should have faced punishment.
In a bizarre coincidence, one of them includes the time he tried to kiss the Fresh Prince star himself in what he intended as a comedic bit after Smith won an MTV award for Best Kiss on the same night the Jim Carrey-Alicia Silverstone moment took place.
Or how about when Jim Carrey FORCED HIMSELF on Will Smith for a KISS at an award show.

This comes after Carrey said in an interview on CBS Mornings that he while he had “nothing against Will Smith”, he was “sickened by the standing ovation” he got after accepting his award for Best Actor.
Moreover, he went on to label the moment as one where Hollywood showed it was “spineless en masse”, insisting that “we’re [celebrities] not the cool club anymore” and that Smith’s actions cast a shadow of people’s achievements on the night.

Carrey is yet to respond following his own on-stage behaviour has now been called into question, whether done so with comedic intentions or not. However, this isn’t the only old clip that has been unearthed following the incident.
Not only has a clip of Jada Pinkett-Smith saying she doesn’t give “two craps what people feel about this bald head of mine” come to the fore – a clip which has since been deleted – shows Smith mocking a bald man live on television back in 1991 has also been doing the rounds on social media this week.
