It’s a long weekend which means that plenty of you will have some time to kick back and relax while binging on some TV shows. With this in mind, we’ve decided to draw up a list of the must-watch titles that are currently on Netflix.

We’ve got you covered because there’s a nice mix of everything here with comedy, drama and documentaries all represented.

Friday Night Lights

What’s it about: The trials and tribulations of small town Texas football players, their friends, family, and coaching staff.

Watch because: You’ll become so incredibly invested in these characters.

The must watch scale– 11/10.

Friday Night Lights

House Of Cards

What’s it about: A Congressman works with his equally conniving wife to exact revenge on the people who betrayed him.

Watch because: Very few shows have captured the calculated, double-crossing and cutthroat world of politics quite like the Kevin Spacey led thriller. The first season moves at such a quick pace that you’ll probably finish it in a heartbeat.

It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia

What’s it about: Five depraved friends with incredibly big egos and arrogant attitudes run an Irish bar in Philadelphia.

Watch because: It’s easily the funniest show on TV. There’s no question about it.

DancingThe Bridge

What’s it about: When a body is found on the bridge between Denmark and Sweden, right on the border, Danish inspector Martin Rohde and Swedish Saga Norén have to share jurisdiction and work together to find the killer.

Watch because: Just like The Wire, this drama unfolds like a gripping book that you’re unable to put down. It might also feature the best cinematography in any TV show.

Bridge

Better Call Saul

What’s it about: The trials and tribulations of criminal lawyer, Jimmy McGill, in the time leading up to establishing his strip-mall law office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Watch because: Everyone still misses Breaking Bad. This is the next best thing.

The must watch scale: 8/10

Luther

What’s it about: A near-genius murder detective chases London’s most depraved murders but his brilliant mind can’t always save him from the dangerous violence of his own demons.

Watch because: Idris Elba is magnetic and the show manages to capture the best elements of horrors, thrillers and dramas.

Daredevil

What’s it about: Matt Murdock, with his other senses superhumanly enhanced, fights crime as a blind Lawyer by day, and vigilante by night.

Watch because: It puts an emphasis on the “graphic” side of graphic-novel. The fight sequences are better than 99 per cent of Hollywood films.

The must watch scale: 9/10

Daredevil Sequence

Arrested Development

What’s it about: Level-headed son Michael Bluth takes over family affairs after his father is imprisoned. But the rest of his spoiled, dysfunctional family are making his job unbearable.

Watch because: It’s one of the best written comedies of all-time. Tobias and GOB will have you in stitches.

The must watch scale: 10/10

Tobias Blue

Peaky Blinders

What’s it about: A gangster family epic set in 1919 Birmingham, England and centered on a gang who sew razor blades in the peaks of their caps, and their fierce boss Tommy Shelby, who means to move up in the world.

Watch because: It’s unlike anything that you’ve seen before. The characters are so well-constructed and Cillian Murphy is absolutely superb.

Fargo

What’s it about: Various chronicles of deception, intrigue and murder in and around frozen Minnesota. Yet all of these tales mysteriously lead back one way or another to Fargo, North Dakota

Watch because: The caliber of actors and performances in this show are second to none. Right now, it’s got the best ensemble cast in TV.

The League

What’s it about: A comedy that follows a group of old friends in a fantasy football league who care deeply about one another — so deeply that they use every opportunity to make each other’s lives miserable.

Watch because: It’s such a simple idea but it’s executed brilliantly. Have you ever had a bunch of friends that you care about so much that you deliberately try to f**k up their lives? Aside from IASIP, this group of friends have the best dynamic of any bunch that’s currently on TV.

The must watch scale: 9/10

lEAGUE

Master Of None

What’s it about: The personal and professional life of Dev, a 30-year-old actor in New York, that’s trying to understand life, romance and pasta.

Watch because: In the modern era, very few shows have accurately and honestly captured what it’s actually like to be in your late 20s and early 30s.

Narcos

What’s it about: A chronicled look at the criminal exploits of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar.

Watch because: Not since Breaking Bad has a show managed to grip us as much in such a short space of time. A wonderful portrayal of the world’s most notorious criminal.

Community

What’s it about: A suspended lawyer is forced to enroll in a community college with an eclectic staff and student body.

Watch because:  The writing is razor-sharp, and Abed has some of the best delivery that you’re going to see on TV.

Suits

What’s it about: On the run from a drug deal gone bad, Mike Ross, a brilliant college-dropout, finds himself a job working with Harvey Specter, one of New York City’s best lawyers.

Watch because: The dynamic between Mike and Harvey will instantly make you root for them and keep watching.

The must watch scale: 7/10

Harvey Suits Threat

Homeland

What’s it about: A bipolar CIA operative becomes convinced a prisoner of war has been turned by al-Qaeda and is planning to carry out a terrorist attack on American soil.

Watch because: Just when you think that you’ve a grasp on the truth, things instantly change. Gripping TV at its very best.

The must watch scale: 9/10so-sure-so-wrong

Firefly

What’s it about: Five hundred years in the future, a renegade crew aboard a small spacecraft tries to survive as they travel the unknown parts of the galaxy and evade warring factions as well as authority agents out to get them.

Watch because: It has all the best elements of comedy, action and sci-fi. General rule of US TV, if the show is cancelled then it’s usually good. Joss Whedon’s show is excellent.

Drunk

Making A Murderer

What’s it about: Filmed over a 10-year period, Making a Murderer is an unprecedented real-life thriller about Steven Avery, a DNA exoneree who, while in the midst of exposing corruption in local law enforcement, finds himself the prime suspect in a grisly new crime. Set in America’s heartland, the series takes viewers inside a high-stakes criminal case where reputation is everything and things are never as they appear.

Watch because: The entire world can’t be wrong.

Making A Murderer

Planet Earth

What’s it about: Emmy award-winning, 11 episodes, 5 years in the making, the most expensive nature documentary series ever commissioned by the BBC, and the first to be filmed in high definition.

Watch because: Sometimes you really have to sit back and observe the world in all of its breathtaking beauty.

The Office

What’s it about: The story of an office that faces closure when the company decides to downsize its branches. A documentary film crew follow staff and the manager Brent as they continue their daily lives.

Watch because: It revolutionised TV.

Sherlock

What’s it about: A modern update finds the famous sleuth and his doctor partner solving crime in 21st century London.

Watch because: The production values put most films to shame and Benedict Cumberbatch is the most unlikely, but brilliant, hero on TV. His scenes with Moriarty are a joy to watch.

Louis Theroux’s Weird Weekends

What’s it about: Absolutely everything that appeals to the weird and wonderful nature of the human condition.

Watch because: Louis Theroux has the best interview technique of anyone that’s on TV.

The must watch scale: 10/10

Attack The Block - UK Premiere

Californication

What’s it about: A self-loathing, alcoholic writer attempts to repair his damaged relationships with his daughter and her mother while combating sex addiction, a budding drug problem, and the seeming inability to avoid making bad decisions.

Watch because: A life of sex, drugs and rock ‘n roll has never looked this good. Charles Bukowski would be proud of Hank Moody.

Californication

Archer

What’s it about: At ISIS, no one ever shuts up. Covert black ops and espionage take a back seat to zany personalities and relationships between the secret agents and drones.

Watch because: It’s testament to the fact that animation takes risks that more conventional shows would never dream of. Disturbing, hilarious and incredibly stylised, this is the perfect show to watch when you’re in need of a quick laugh.

The must watch scale: 9/10

Archer

Breaking Bad

What’s it about: A high school chemistry teacher diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer turns to manufacturing and selling methamphetamine, with his former student, in order to secure his family’s financial future.

Watch because: It’s the best TV show since The Wire.
