George Michael, a true pop legend, passed away on Christmas Day this year.
In the hours and days since his death, he has been remembered as a man who went out of his way to help others, an LGBT icon, and a merchant of absolute bangers.
Spotify confirmed to TMZ that streams of George Michael’s music have increased by a staggering 3,158% overnight between the 25th and 26th of December.
The man wrote no shortage of classics, with Last Christmas, Careless Whisper, Faith, Freedom and Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go — and sang on the belter Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me, with Elton John.
If only George Michael were around to see the outpouring of love that followed his death. We think Gary Lineker put it best.
Wouldn't it be lovely if death gave us a day's notice so giants like George Michael could see how much they were revered and adored.
