It's almost time...

Star Wars is set for a record-breaking opening as Star Wars fever sets in around the globe.

The Force Awakens has already sold half a million tickets for its opening week at UK Odeon cinemas alone.

Managing Director Duncan Reynolds said: “We expect it to become the biggest film of all time”.

The film premieres in the US on Monday and fans have been camping in the streets in the hope of catching a glance of stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford, who are set to join director JJ Abrams on the red carpet, who is believed to be ‘terrified’ of the reaction.

Steven Spielberg has admitted his friend is fully aware of the importance of the film to Disney, who acquired Lucasfilm in 2012.

Asked what he thought was currently going on in J.J’s head, Spielberg told CBS: “Oh, J.J. is terrified.

“There’s a lot of pressure on J.J. to start paying Disney back for, you know, the franchise they bought from George Lucas.”

Talk about pressure.
