Australia might have a new power couple
Steve Irwin’s son made his red carpet debut earlier this week alongside Heath Ledger’s niece.
Robert Irwin and Rorie Buckey attended the premiere of Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning in Sydney on Monday (July 3).
In their first red carpet event as a couple, they wore matching black outfits to the premiere.
Robert, 19, is the son of the late crocodile hunter Steve Irwin, whilst Rorie, 18, is the niece of the late Australian actor Heath Ledger.
Steve Irwin passed away in September 2006 during filming in the Great Barrier Reef when he was stung in the chest by a short-tail stingray.
His death sent shockwaves around the world, and he left behind his wife Terri, along with his son Robert, who was three-years-old at the time, and his daughter Bindi, who was eight.
As he’s grown up, Robert has followed in his father’s footsteps, and has amassed millions of followers around the world for his dangerous exploits, conservation efforts, and close relationship with wild animals.
Rorie is the daughter of Kate Ledger, the older sister of the actor Heath Ledger. He died in January 2008 at the age of just 28 following an accidental overdose of medications.
Following his death, he posthumously won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight.

The seventh installment in the Mission Impossible franchise stars the likes of Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg and Hayley Atwell, who also attended the premiere.
But it was the lovestruck teens Robert and Rorie who captured the hearts of many there as they smiled for cameras together.

It is not known when exactly they started going out, but they were first spotted in public together in Queensland late last year, Sky News reports.
