Netflix has also released a batch of episode titles
Get ready to return to the Upside Down because streaming giant Netflix has officially revealed that Stranger Things season four will be available to binge-watch in summer 2022.
As if that wasn’t good enough, they’ve also revealed a brand new trailer offering up an extra glimpse at what’s in store – alongside an eerie video teasing some of the show’s upcoming episode titles.
The news comes in celebration of Stranger Things Day – which if you didn’t know – was yesterday, November 6.
It was on this day that, in Stranger Things-lore, an unsuspecting Will Byers (Noah Schnapp) got lost in the mysterious Upside Down, leading his pals Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) to venture into the supernatural unknown in order to find him. It’s a journey that brought them straight to the super-powered Eleven (Milly Bobby Brown) and world of trouble as a clandestine government began tracking their every move.
While an exact release date hasn’t been unveiled just yet, you can check out the tense new trailer below:
In the new teaser, we find Eleven tentatively trying to blend into suburban school life – and despite being separated from her teen hubby Mike – it looks like things are going pretty well.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t last long. Cue explosions, panicked faces and the familiar creepy pulse of the show’s iconic theme music, signalling dark things lurking on the horizon.
In addition to the trailer, Netflix has also shared details of a selection of new episode titles. Until summer 2022 rolls around, we can spend our time trying to decipher exactly what instalments like ‘The Hellfire Club’, ‘Vecna’s Curse’, ‘The Monster and the Superhero’ and ‘Dear Billy’ could possibly have in store.
Created by The Duffer Brothers, Netflix’s nostalgia-heavy hit has gone on to win over 65 industry awards and a further 175 industry nominations since its 2016 debut.
It’s also made fast-stars of its pint-sized cast, with Bobby-Brown cultivating a successful big-screen career in films like Enola Holmes and Godzilla Vs Kong and Wolfhard tackling spooks in Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
