Jack Whitehall made news headlines around the world this week when he claimed he consoled Sylvester Stallone after the Oscars.
“Sly” had been up for the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, for his performance in Creed, but lost out to Mark Rylance.
In an interview with the Mirror, Jack Whitehall claimed that he bumped into Stallone after the show, and gave him some words of advice:
“I had to console him about missing out on his Oscar, telling him there was always next year. Or maybe if he did Creed 2 he might get a nod. I think it reassured him.”
Given that Jack Whitehall is in the comedy business, it’s highly likely that he was joking, but his comments were reported on by numerous news outlets and were seen by Rocky himself.
He was not happy.

“I NEVER met this young man,” Stallone tweeted. “Pity it has to be under these circumstances.”
Jack Whitehall is yet to respond, but this could the most unlikely beef of 2016.
Next year’s Oscars could be fun…
