When television presenter Caroline Flack was found dead in her London apartment on Saturday, February 15 the news sent shockwaves through the British entertainment industry.

Flack amassed hundreds of thousands of fans through her career, from her early acting days in Bo Selecta to the role she would be best known for, as host of ITV’s Love Island.

The tumultuous nature of the final months of her life, and the role that the British media and social media users played in those months, has led to intense scrutiny on the manner in which we treat people in the spotlight.

We sat down with actor, television writer and current MP for for Batley and Spen Tracy Brabin to discuss the British media landscape and whether measures need to be taken to prevent the media invading the lives of vulnerable people.
