The trailer for Cobra Kai season 3 is here, and there is a lot to unpack
(Spoilers for season 2 of Cobra Kai, obviously).

First up, we see Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) recovering from the coma he was left in following the massive high school brawl at the end of season 2. Daniel (William Zabka) is seen training Miguel back to strength and helping him into a wheelchair. The Karate Kid has always been about overcoming the odds and fighting through tough times, so we can see this being a big part of season 3.
Then we seemingly get a new truce between Daniel and Johnny (Ralph Macchio). Will they actually be joining forces to stop Kreese (Martin Kove)?
Perhaps the biggest news though is that Chozen (Yuji Okumoto), the bad guy from The Karate Kid Part II, and his love interest, Kumiko (Tamlyn Tomita) are going to be a big part of the new season. It looks like Daniel is traveling to Okinawa, Japan, just like he did in the original film’s sequel. We even get a glimpse at Mr Miyagi.
The official synopsis for Cobra Kai season 3 reads:
Season Three finds everyone reeling in the aftermath of the violent high school brawl between their dojos, which has left Miguel in a precarious condition. While Daniel searches for answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of dominance. The soul of the Valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei hangs in the balance.
Two series of Cobra Kai originally ran on YouTube Premium, the video streaming giant’s paid-for service. However, YouTube Premium has never really broken through as a subscription model (probably because people are so used to getting content for free on there), so while the show got great reviews and word of mouth, it wasn’t really a mainstream hit.
Netflix knows a good thing when they see it through, and picked the show up for a third season.
