Iron Man, Groot, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lando Calrissian and more…
Disney held a 2020 Investor Day on Thursday, with chief executive Bob Chapek taking to the stage to inform both stockholders and fans about what’s next from the studio.And when it came to Marvel and Star Wars, there was certainly a lot to announce.
It was revealed that there are 10 new Marvel series coming to Disney+, and 10 more Star Wars shows heading to the streaming service as well.
Let’s got through the Marvel shows first, of which five were announced. Secret Invasion will star Samuel L Jackson as Nick Fury, fending off an invasion of Earth by the aliens Skrulls.
The next two are both Iron Man related. Iron Heart will adapt the popular character of the same name introduced to the comics in 2016; an African-American teenage girl who manages to build her own Stark armour. And Armour Wars will be based on the comics storyline of the same name, and see Don Cheadle return as War Machine.

The final two announced Marvel shows will star the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy. The GotG will get their own Holiday Special in 2022, riffing on the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, and Groot will also star in his own animated series.
Everyone’s favorite little tree, Baby Groot, will star in a series of shorts on Disney+, featuring several new and unusual characters.

On the Star Wars side, the highest-profile announcement was probably the confirmation of the long-rumoured Obi-Wan Kenobi series, with both Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen returning.
Unsurprisingly, The Mandalorian is also getting some tie-ins. Rangers of the New Republic will be set during the time period as the first Disney+ Star Wars show, and Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka Tano is also getting her own series.
Elsewhere, Diego Luna will reprise his character from Rogue One in Andor.

Lando Calrissian is also getting a solo series from Dear White People creator Justin Simien, while Russian Doll creator Leslye Headland is handling a mystery-thriller series called The Acolyte.
On the animated side, CGI series The Bad Batch got a trailer. An anime anthology entitled Visions was also announced, as was A Droid’s Tale, featuring R2-D2 and C3PO.
