Former GMB host, Piers Morgan, says he ‘defends free speech’ after controversial comments
Though he may have left his role as co-presenter of Good Morning Britain, it seems that Piers Morgan is going nowhere. Just as his time in America came to an end, he’ll likely find another platform from which to fill the airwaves with more inflammatory content.
Speaking to Sky News the morning after his strop live on telly and subsequent departure, Morgan began his address by stating: “I believe in the freedom of speech, I believe in the right to have an opinion.”
Piers Morgan dismisses 'diatribe of bilge' Meghan claims in Oprah interview.
The former GMB presenter stands by his views on the interview given by the Sussexes and vows to return to some kind of high-profile position.

He stood by his statement that he doesn’t believe “almost anything that comes out of [Meghan Markle’s] mouth” and went on to reiterate that he finds “the damage she’s done to British Monarchy […] is enormous and, quite frankly, contemptible”.
“If people want to believe Meghan Markle, that’s entirely their right. I don’t believe almost anything that comes out of her mouth,” he said.
“If I need to fall on my sword for expressing an honestly held opinion about Meghan Markle and that diatribe of bilge she came out with in that interview, so be it.”
It seems that, once again, Piers has very obvious priorities and allegiances that he will not diverge from no matter what new information he is presented with. He is clearly only willing to recognise the supposed damage Harry and Meghan have done, rather than the mere notion of any damage caused by the Royal Family.
I fear he may have massively missed the point of the interview (pretends to be shocked).
The irony of his fickle nature hasn’t been lost on the British public. You only have to look at how he spoke of Meghan when they first met to detect a hint of bias and that his beloved opinion may not have been formed from an entirely neutral starting point.
