Johnny Vegas fell off a ladder to make 2020 a tiny bit more bearable
Cult comedy gameshow Taskmaster made the leap from Dave to Channel 4 this year, with Johnny Vegas amongst the contestants.
On last night’s episode, one of the tasks challenged the celebrity contestants to catapult a shoe into a bathtub, from a red circle around ten feet from the tub. They had to construct the catapult from a selection of items lying around, and were only able to use their foot to operate the contraption.
Vegas put together a convoluted structure using a wooden ladder, a garden rake, and an oil drum.
And then proceeded to put his foot straight through the ladder.

“Johnny Vegas destroying that ladder has made my night,” said one Taskmaster fan.
“This might just be the moment Vegas will be remembered for,” tweeted another, with a third adding: “Laughing so hard at Johnny Vegas’ ‘have you ever had an accident at work’ moment.”
Vegas managed to get the shoe in the bath in just over twelve minutes, on his twelfth attempt, though he did admit that his foot was pretty swollen afterward. Greg Davies did argue that he didn’t really catapult the shoe, and just kicked it, but Vegas still came second in the task.
