Sarah Connor is back
The history of the Terminator franchise is long and complicated. Part one is a brilliant, stripped back thriller, that feels more like a slasher movie than a big blockbuster. And part two is the greatest action movies all time.
Part three is actually quite good and better than people give it credit for, but it is a rehash of part two, and thus seems not as good when compared to that classic. God knows what was going on in four, and five is a complete mess that sets itself up for sequels that will never happen.
Oh, and there’s The Sarah Connor Connor Chronicles that ran for two seasons, but I never watched that.
The next instalment however will be called just Terminator. (What is it with these franchise been re-named as just the characters name? Predators? Jason Bourne? Rambo? Rocky Balboa?). And it will ignore the event of Terminators three to five, and be a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Not only that, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton are back, as the T-800 and Sarah Connor respectively.
And fansite The Terminator Fans have the first set photos of Hamilton back in the role.Â

Here for Linda Hamilton in Terminator 6. Loved her in T2. pic.twitter.com/i9uweL5Yi7

She looks just like the same badass she was all the way back in Judgment Day.
Other names in the cast include Agents of SHIELD’s Gabriel Luna, and Black Mirror’s Mackenzie Davis.
Linda Hamilton also reprised the role of Sarah Connor for voiceovers in Terminator Salvation, and in the T2-3D: Battle Across Time theme park attraction. Game of Throne’s Emilia Clarke played Connor in Terminator Genisys, and another GoT star, Lena Headey, portrayed her in The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Terminator will be directed by Deadpool’s Tim Miller. Plot details on the movie are thin on the ground, but apparently Arnold Schwarzenegger will also be playing the man who the T-800 was based on, as well as the robot itself.
