Well folks, that’s it.
The Bake Off as we know and love it is over. With this season’s finale comes the sad end of the GBBO and BBC partnership. Ne’er again will Mary Berry, Paul Hollywood, Mel and Sue grace our screens in the big white tent.
It’s been an emotional evening…. and that was without it being a final between three of the strongest Bake Off finalists to date.
Yes there was a bit off football on Wednesday night. Yes there was a “Manchester derby” to get everyone in a mess.
But pound for pound and tweet for tweet, nothing on Wednesday mattered more than The Great British Bake Off final.
Absolutely nothing.
This was the end of an era, the barn busting season finale and the last rite funerals for one of television’s best shows.
It was one heck of an hour…. and people could not cope.
Tears were shed

Of course, as Nelly Furtado once said, all good things come to an end.
But it wasn’t without tension.
