The new Batman v Superman trailer has dropped and online fans aren’t happy at all.
If previous short teasers were vague, often bootleg, snippets of the much-awaited superhero mashup, the new trailer perhaps gives a little too much away.
This is the preview they’re all talking about…

First off, it is almost three minutes long. None of that time is taken up by a gravely voice telling you that the franchise is ‘brought to you by the makers of…’ or stars so-and-so and what’s-his-face.
It is all pure movie footage, and that’s part of the problem. Of course fervent fans are desperate for any morsel of information about a new movie, but they don’t want it to be ruined by TMI.
That was the main issue for many unhappy viewers…

Another issue was the dinner party meeting between alter egos Clark Kent and Bruce Wayne, which was received with much consternation…

The "Clark Kent meets Bruce Wayne" snippet was pure cheese, but there are some neat moments in the new #BatmanvSuperman trailer. Interested.

A lot of criticism was reserved for Jesse Eisenberg’s somewhat ‘familiar’ depiction of Lex Luthor…

Did someone accidentally tell Jesse Eisenberg that he's supposed to be playing the Joker?

What if Jesse Eisenberg is a better Joker than Jared Leto? #BatmanvSuperman

Nothing against Jesse Eisenberg but his portrayal of Lex Luthor just seems very Zuckerberg / Jar Jar

This looks awesome, but my god is Jesse Eisenberg awful. https://t.co/9p0wO9EKp0

Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent seem to be in their late 30s or 40 something. Why does Lex Luthor looks like he just graduated from college?

But perhaps the biggest issue, apart from much of the plot being given away, centred around Batman handling firearms…

Also, Batman with a gun?? Seriously? Ugh…Batman has NEVER been about guns! WTF!

Why is Batman holding a gun in the new #batmanvsuperman trailer??? That just seems so weird and against his character.

Batman isn't the only person you should be mad at for having a gun and complaining about aliens.
