In even better news, Jurassic World is now on Netflix.
In terms of an unashamed summer blockbuster, Jurassic World did everything that was required because it provided enough thrills to satisfy fans of Spielberg’s ’93 classic.
Granted, nothing will ever top the T-Rex from the original, but film fans were more than happy to pay their hard earned money to see the Indominus rex terrorise a new generation of dinosaur lovers.
Hold onto your butts because Jurassic World made a staggering $1,019,442,583 at the box-office.
Truth be told, we’re very excited by the news that Dr Ian Malcolm – better known as the uberly cool Jeff Goldblum – will be returning to the franchise and his addition isn’t even the most exciting part.
The director of the new film, J. A. Bayona, is one of the most talented filmmakers around (he directed The Orphanage and A Monster Calls) so we’ve no doubt that he’ll be able to build on what Colin Trevorrow did in the fourth film of the saga.
While we’re still waiting on the plot synopsis, life will find a way in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.
If you haven’t seen Jurassic World, it has just been added to the Netflix library and it’s definitely worth checking out. Much like the first film, a new theme park, built on the original site of Jurassic Park, creates a genetically modified hybrid dinosaur, which escapes containment and goes on a killing spree.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will be returning in the new film as Owen Grady and Claire Dearing respectfully, alongside BD Wong‘s Dr. Henry Wu, James Cromwell, Toby Jones and Goldblum.
In previous interviews, Bayona has said that Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will have political elements and that it will also deal with issues like medical experimentation, animal cruelty and the idea that zoos can be used like prisons.
Roll on next summer.
