For Frank Castle, the war is never over.
The Punisher was one of the standouts in an already impressive second season of Daredevil of Netflix. Jon Bernthal’s take on the Punisher was second to none. A mean, gritty and faithful portrayal of one of Marvel’s most damaged individuals.
Which is why so many comic book fans were delighted to hear The Punisher will be getting his own Netflix spin-off show.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, Marvel has ordered a spin-off starring The Punisher with Hannibal writer Steve Lightfoot as the series’ showrunner.
The Punisher spin off will the be the sixth Marvel programme available to Netflix, joining Daredevil and Jessica Jones, along with upcoming stories involving Luke Cage and Iron Fist.
As of yet there is no word on whether The Punisher will bring his no-nonsense approach to crime-fighting to the Netflix crossover show The Defenders, but considering his “shoot em all” style, we doubt it.
Needless to say, some people were hyped about the announcement.
Thank you Netflix, for giving us The Punisher series, Bless

While others expressed disappointment that Marvel weren’t using this slot to bring other stars to television.
I have read and enjoyed many years of Punisher solo series, but there are like 20 characters I'd rather watch Netflix shows about.
