Fast and the Furious hits Rock bottom
Everybody has their favourite rocks, which the rise in spirituality and crystals has only amplified. But what’s my favourite rock? Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, of course.

Since 2011’s Fast Five, The Rock has played Luke Hobbs, a highly-trained bounty hunter that, in all honesty, is almost a carbon copy of every other character he plays. Anyway, his one job was to catch Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family. He has since been in Fast and Furious 6, The Fate of the Furious, Furious 7 and was a titular character alongside Jason Statham in Hobbs & Shaw.
Speculation about Diesel and Johnson’s feud has run rampant for years. When Johnson received great reviews for revitalising the franchise in his first appearance, this reportedly did not sit well with Vin Diesel.
During the production of The Fate of the Furious, Johnson shared a cryptic message about his fellow castmembers:
“Some conduct themselves as stand-up men and true professionals, while others don’t. The ones that don’t are too chicken s*** to do anything about it anyway. Candy asses. When you watch this movie next April, and it seems like I’m not acting in some of these scenes and my blood is legit boiling – you’re right.”

Reports by TMZ allege Diesel was rude to other actors, criticised their performances, and even turned up late to shoot his own scenes. His diva-like behaviour obviously rubbed the Rock the wrong way, but reports say if you rub him the right way, he turns into a diamond!
The straw that broke the camel’s back was when Diesel took credit for Johnson’s performance in the latest instalment, claiming it was his “tough love” that pushed the acting forward. However, Johnson did not take kindly to this:
“I laughed, and I laughed hard. I think everyone had a laugh at that. And I’ll leave it at that. And that I’ve wished them well. I wish them well on Fast 9. And I wish them the best of luck on Fast 10 and Fast 11 and the rest of the Fast & Furious movies they do that will be without me.”

It looks like Johnson won’t be returning for future instalments of the franchise. Perhaps, with the loss of the man who injected new energy into the series, Fast and the Furious should take not of its ‘furious’ nature, seek anger management therapy, and retire.
