Did they not get our audition tape?
Laugh it up, fuzzball. We really did believe we were in with a chance.
Deadline has confirmed that fresh-faced Alden Ehrenreich will star as Han Solo in an upcoming film about the early life of the iconic Star Wars character, perfectly portrayed by Harrison Ford.
Reports indicate that 26-year-old Ehrenreich beat a number of other actors, including Reynor and Kingsman star Taron Egerton, to the role in the film, expected to be titled Han Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The film will be helmed by two of the most exciting and most bestest directors working today, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs), and the latter took to Twitter on Star Wars Day with the following message featuring Solo’s brilliant blaster…

By the twin suns of Tatooine, WE CANNOT WAIT .
In case you’re wondering who Ehrenreich actually is, he’s best known for stealing the show in the Coen brothers’ Hail, Caesar!, starring in what already has to be a contender for one of the greatest film scenes of 2016.
He’s the one who isn’t Ralph Fiennes…

And Alden, in case you happen to be reading this,* we’ve one piece of advice before getting stuck into filming…don’t get cocky, kid.
The Han Solo film is set for release on 25 May 2018.
