The Star Wars cast and crew have been in Ireland for the past few weeks filming the next instalment in the series.
They have been spotted around counties Donegal, Kerry and Cork, taking in the sights and spending time around the various locations outside of filming.
Mark Hamill, especially, seemed to be having a blast:

The Irish people were delighted to have them in the country, and would evidently welcome them back in a heartbeat. But they probably didn’t expect the cast to feel the same way.
They took out a full-page advert in the ‘Irish Examiner’ newspaper to say thank you:

The ad reads:
“Lucasfilm and the Cast and Crew of the 8th installment of the Star Wars saga would like to thank the people of Crookhaven, Goleen and the Brow Head Peninsula for the warm welcome we have received throughout our location shoot here in West Cork.
“We have been captivated by the landscape of the Wild Atlantic Way, it has provided a spectacular backdrop for our story.
“The tireless commitment of our Irish Crew, the enthusiasm and support of the people of West Cork have made our Irish adventure one we will always treasure.
“Go mbeidh an fórsa leat!! – May the force be with you!!”
Classy move, guys.
