Netflix dropped the trailer for The Witcher season two on Friday, and already fans are eating it up and preparing for another binge of Henry Cavill in tight leather, mud, and the mandatory blood of his enemies.

It seems like a lifetime since the first Witcher series, which first aired in December 2019. Now, almost three years later, fans are once again pumping themselves up in preparation.

Based on the incredible game series and Andrzej Sapkowski’s original novels, the trailer opens with Geralt (Henry Cavill) wading through swamp water.

“Something has changed Geralt,” says the voiceover, as a winged creature breaks from the treeline in the distance.
Cavill has previously shared teasers of the new series, the most recent being a sneak peek at Geralt’s new armour.
“‘It may turn out,’ said the white-haired man a moment later, ‘that their comrades or cronies may ask what befell these evil men. Tell them the Wolf bit them,” the caption read.

“The White Wolf. And add that they should keep glancing over their shoulders. One day they’ll look back and see the Wolf.’ – From the writings of Andrzej Sapkowski.”

The masses loved the first season, but many found the timeline a little confusing given that one season takes place through multiple decades. But that’s over now, given that all three of the central characters are finally in the same time/area.

“When I talk about The Witcher, I always talk about how these three characters come together – Geralt, Ciri and Yennefer – they come together as a family. It’s the most important part of the series for me,” showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich told the Wrap.

Already fans are losing it, with one writing, “Holy shit this looks amazing, Pls keep making this show forever.”

“Hell yes. If it’s half as good as the last season it will be twice as good as anything else running,” another wrote on Twitter.

A third said: “whoever pitched the idea of remixing monster by Kanye west into the witcher soundtrack deserves a raise.”

The Witcher premiers December 17 on Netflix.
