Prepare to relive your childhood trauma
Some films, while not entirely creepy or haunting, have a far greater impact on your psyche if you see them at a young age.
In fact, the best kids films aren’t afraid to go dark. Fantasia, Bambi, The Lion King, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (The Child Catcher) are perfect examples of this.
It’s now been announced that The Witches is being remade and we’re confident in saying that Anjelica Huston’s transformation during *that*scene still gives people the heebie-jeebies.
The skin melting off, her crackling laugh, the sheer glee that she gets from torturing kids, the nose. It’s all haunting.

The incredibly talented duo of Alfonso Cuaron (Gravity) and Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth) will produce the reboot of Roald Dahl’s The Witches for Warner Bros.
Robert Zemeckis (Back to the Future) will be directing the film about a boy who stumbles upon a coven of child-hating witches that he must stop.
Of course, that’s not the only Roald Dahl book that’s being developed. There’s a remake of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, with Paddington director Paul King attached to the project.
Creepy. As. Hell.
