There’s going to be another massive meeting in the next episode of Game of Thrones

Paul Moore

This could be awkward.

This season of Game of Thrones has started faster than Cersei necking a glass of wine, but now that we’re almost at the halfway point (sob, sob), there’s still plenty of storylines and meetings that have to occur.

Again, we’re going to reiterate our house words because spoilers are coming.

If every single member of House Stark survives the Long Night – that’s an ‘if’ which is bigger than The Wall!- then we wonder what their family reunion will be like?

We’ve got a faceless killer that’s consumed by vengeance (Arya), a  demigod that has lost all social skills (Bran), a man who returned from the dead and isn’t actually their half-brother (Jon Snow) and a mentally and physically abused eunuch that’s desperately searching for the remnants of his previous self (Theon)

Then there’s Sansa, she’s just chilling. Ok, we know that the Lady of Winterfell has also undergone a broad characters arc, but in terms of seismic changes, she has nothing on the rest of her family.

Yep, we’ve come a long way from this moment.

Given the fact that we’ve all seen the stunning trailer for the upcoming episode, The Spoils of War, we already knew that Theon Greyjoy was going to reappear but we finally know where he’s going to pop up.

The last time we saw Theon, he was being plucked out of the sea by his fellow Ironborn after he fled the attack from Euron Greyjoy’s fleet.

Well, we now know where this depleted fleet will be taking their shamed prince – straight to Dragonstone and a reunion between Theon and, Jon Snow.

This is very interesting because in Jon’s eyes, Theon, of course, was responsible for betraying Robb Stark when he sacked Winterfell and pretended to murder his brothers, Rickon and Bran. In other words, the bastard of Winterfell and the son of House Greyjoy don’t get along.

We never saw a scene where Sansa told Jon about Theon’s role in helping her escape from Ramsay Bolton, so we expect things to be heated between the pair.

We fully expect Jon’s inability to tolerate bulls**t to shine once again.

This reunion could play out very differently to another one that’s expected in the next episode.
