These are the 10 worst songs of the year, according to TIME

Not to everyone's taste.

Paul Moore

As we approach December, it’s inevitable that we’ll be bombarded with the annual dose of various ‘best of’ and ‘worst of’ lists,

And while they make for pleasant reading, it’s always worth knowing which turkeys to avoid if you happen to be buying a few DVDs or CDs as Christmas presents.

Much like this list of the 10 biggest movie flops of the year, TIME magazine have released a list of songs that they believe are 2016’s musical equivalent of hearing nails on a chalkboard.

Meghan Trainor may be all about that bass, but she’s all about what was poor in music during 2016, according to TIME’s list, with two entries among the top 10.

She fell short of the top spot, though, with that honour going to Justin Timberlake’s ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling’ from the Trolls soundtrack.

Here’s the list in full. If there are any you don’t recognise, the chances are you’ll probably have heard them unwittingly at some stage this year.

10) Lukas Graham – 7 Years

9) Britney Spears – Private Show

8) Meghan Trainor – No

7) gnash – i hate u, i love u

6) Mike Posner – I Took A Pill in Ibiza

5) Machine Gun Kelly – Bad Things

4) Fall Out Boy & Missy Elliott – Ghostbusters (I’m Not Afraid)

3) Iggy Azalea – Team

2) Meghan Trainor – Mom

1) Justin Timberlake – Can’t Stop The Feeling
