2016 has taken a lot out of all of us.
It feels like a decade’s worth of shocking news has taken place since the start of the year – and we’ve still got six weeks to go.
One of the rare high points, however, has been the brilliance that is ‘Planet Earth 2’.
The David Attenborough-narrated nature show has opened our eyes to all that nature has to offer, from yellow crazy ants to racer snakes and everything in between.
But while that all makes for great TV, it’s hardly relatable, is it?
Step forward the humble capybara, whose reaction to a jaguar carrying away a caiman summed up our reaction to, well, just about everything this year.

It works for pretty much anything – let us explain.
Here’s our reaction to Leicester winning the Premier League.
Here’s how a just under half of the country felt upon hearing the results of the Brexit vote.
What’s that? England lost to Iceland at Euro 2016?
America elected Donald Trump?

That iguanas and racer snakes segment on Planet Earth 2
See, it works for pretty much anything. You should really give it a go.
Of course, that does mean remembering all the weird things that have happened in 2016. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
