A Reddit user who goes by the name of ShouldveFundedTesla uncovered this screenshot of a Netflix description. It was for an episode of Malcolm in the Middle that came out two years before Breaking Bad hit American screens for the first time.
The episode in question sees Malcolm preparing to leave for university, but Hal is worried about how he can afford to finance it.

Fans of Breaking Bad will know that Walt’s first foray into (Spoiler alert, but seriously, if you haven’t watched Breaking Bad yet what are you doing with your lives?) the dark underworld of crystal meth came about because he was worrying about how he’d support his family after being diagnosed with cancer.
Of course, mysterious Netflix guy/girl isn’t suggesting for a second that the fact Hal and his ruthless, meth-making doppelgänger share the same tenacious desire to make money out of nothing means that they could in fact be more closely connected than we thought.
No, we don’t think they’re suggesting that at all…
