Alan Rickman has died after a battle with cancer – this is the immediate outpouring from actors and celebrities.
The actor passed away surrounded by friends after keeping the disease a secret to the public and his fans, exactly how David Bowie chose to do.
On hearing the news, Tony Parsons noted their courageousness by posting on Twitter: “You have to note Alan Rickman and David Bowie showed incredible stoicism and quiet courage in the face of the illness that was killing them.”
