Some nine films will be in line for the honour of Best Picture at the 89th Academy Awards.
La La Land dominated the nominations, and is in with a shot at winning 14 awards in total, including Best Picture, with director Damien Chazelle one of the five Best Director nominees.
The full list of Best Picture nominees is as follows:

- Fences
- Hacksaw Ridge
- Hell or High Water
- Hidden Figures
- La La Land
- Lion
- Manchester By the Sea
- Moonlight
The nine films are all in line to succeed the Tom McCarthy film Spotlight, which won top honours at last year’s ceremony.
Casey Affleck, Andrew Garfield, Ryan Gosling, Viggo Mortensen and Denzel Washington will contest for Best Actor honours, while the Best Actress Oscar will go to Isabelle Huppert, Ruth Negga, Natalie Portman, Emma Stone or Meryl Streep.

The 89th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on February 26 in Hollywood, Los Angeles and will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.
