Tupac biopic gets new trailer on the 20th anniversary of his death

The first teaser for the upcoming Tupac Shakur biopic, All Eyez on Me, debuted back in June on what would have been the rapper’s 45th birthday.

And yesterday, which marked 20 years since he was killed in a drive-by shooting, the studio released a tense new trailer that gives fans a pretty comprehensive insight into what they can expect.

They cram a lot into two minutes, as we see the legendary hip-hop artist (played by Demetrius Shipp Jr.) on stage, clashing with the violent law enforcement and having a pretty serious conversation with mother Afeni  (Danai Guira), who warns him that ‘like all black leaders you have a bullseye on your back’. Tupac sharply retorts: “I ain’t no black leader.”

We know the film will track Tupac’s rise to superstardom right through to his death, and that knowledge of what’s to come ominously looms over the trailer for its entirety.

All Eyez On Me also stars Jamal Woolard as The Notorious B.I.G, Grace Gibson as Faith Evans, Kat Graham as Jada Pinkett Smith and Stefon Washington as Puff Daddy.

No release date has been announced but the movie has reportedly been delayed until November over a licensing rights spat. It was originally intended to hit screens this month.
