One upon a time, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series was the king of skateboarding games.
Then a snappy little upstart called Skate came along and stole the crown. As the THPS games got more and more ridiculous, Skate took a more realistic approach. Fans loved the new controller set up and more rewarding approach to setting up trick combos.
Skate 2 and Skate 3 followed, with the latter arriving in 2010. It’s been seven years since we got to play a new Skate game, and the series is sorely missed; if you check out EA’s Instagram, almost every single comment is ‘Skate 4’.
Well your prayers may about to be answered. Possibly. Maybe.

A tweet from EA Community Manager Daniel Lingen sent the gaming world into meltdown, bearing only the hashtag ‘#skate4’. The tweet has now been retweeted over 11,000 times.
Naturally, the tweet sent fans into a frenzy.

What does this mean? We don’t know. What do we hope this means? That Skate 4 is going to be dropped tomorrow. Will this mean that Skate 4 gets dropped tomorrow? No.
But goddamn it, if we don’t get some concrete information about Skate 4 after this, we’re gonna explode.
