Eagles of Death Metal have opened up at length about the events of Friday, November 13 at Le Bataclan in Paris.
The group spoke to Vice about the attacks on the French capital almost two weeks ago, particularly the events at Le Bataclan where they were playing a show that night.
“I want to be the first band to play in the Bataclan when it opens up,” said co-founder and singer Jesse Hughes, onstage that night. “Because I was there when it went silent for a minute.”
The interview is split into two parts.
The first features the full band that was onstage that night, the second with just Hughes and Josh Homme, who was not in Paris a fortnight ago.
Guitarist Eden Galindo initially thought that “the PA was cracking up,” but drummer Julian Dorio knew immediately that something far more sinister was at hand.
“The initial shots were so powerful that I knew immediately something was wrong. Almost immediately, the gun powder hit my nose,” he said.
