A huge congratulations to Idris Elba for finally being recognised for his acting talent.
The Brit was one of the big winners at the Screen Actors Guild Awards at the weekend and gave a nod to ‘diverse TV’.
Elba won the award for outstanding performance by a male actor in a miniseries or TV movie for ‘Luther’ and the supporting actor award for ‘Beasts of No Nation’.
When presenting a clip of the Netflix film alongside his young Ghanaian co-star, Abraham Attah, Elba joked: “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to diverse TV” in reference to the Oscars race row.
