A Vegance Most Fowl aired on the BBC on Christmas Day, becoming the second-most-watched UK broadcast since 2022.
One of the creators of Wallace and Gromit has said that he is sure that another film will be made of the beloved clay-animation characters following the success of the series’ most recent release.
Speaking to the BBC, Peter Lord said that the team were “delighted” with the reception of the most recent film A Vegance Most Fowl and that he believes they will make another because “it’s so fun.”
Following the film’s two wins at Sunday’s BAFTAs – for Best Animated Film and Best Children’s and Family Film – Lord said: “I think we have all of us been so delighted by the success of this movie that we think ‘yes, we want to do that again.’
“Not because it’s good business, although it is good business, but because it’s so fun to bring those characters to the world.
“We don’t make (Wallace and Gromit) for kids or families, we just do what amuses us.
“Believe me we really appreciate it. We love the way everyone loves it. It’s great.”
He added that anyone with an interest in animation should follow their passion as “it’s actually very easy” to make clay stop-motion animation.
Lord said: “Do that for fun because it’s a great feeling, and then just keep doing because it’s just like any other art form.
“It needs a lot of patience but it’s not difficult.”
