Caesar is kicking ass.
Amongst the many reboots we’ve seen in Hollywood in recent years, the rebirth of the Planet of the Apes series has been one of the most successful, both from a commercial and a critical perspective.
War for the Planet of the Apes is the third offering since the franchise returned in 2011 and as the title suggests, shit is going to go down in a big way this time around.
Plot’s it all about: With the seeds of war sewn in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the conflict between apes and humans takes a darker turn as Caesar (Andy Serkis) goes head to head with The Colonel, played by Woody Harrelson.
With the apes suffering badly, Caesar realises that attempts at peace are futile and begins his own quest to avenge his kind.
Cast: Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Karin Konoval, Amiah Miller, and Terry Notary.
Director: Matt Reeves
Irish release date: July 14, 2017
