There’s been a mixed response to this.
Take That were on Lorraine on Monday morning to promote their new single ‘Giants’, but all the talk was about Gary Barlow and his surprising announcement about a cameo in the most famous movie franchise of them all.
Speaking to showbiz reporter Ross King, Barlow admitted that he would indeed be featuring in the next Stars Wars film – The Last Jedi, which will hit the cinemas in December 2017.
“I’m not a stormtrooper, but I am in it,” admitted the singer-songwriter. “You can see my face.”
“Now I’ve said that, I’ll probably be out. I think the Star Wars people are so strict about what information [is out there]. So me saying that, I’ve probably just done myself out of a role!”
He wasn’t taking the piss either, as Star Wars bosses have confirmed the news.
Perhaps understandably, not everyone is pleased with the news…
If Gary Barlow is in star wars I'm simply not watching. Turning it into a joke. Oi @Disney this is why people hated the prequels.

The only reason @GaryBarlow has got a part in Star Wars: The Last Jedi is he's heard from @JimmyCarr that Tatooine is a tax haven … pic.twitter.com/UatnzKOfbr
