Lil Nas is responsible for one of the biggest songs of 2019 so far
There’s just absolutely no way you haven’t heard ‘Old Town Road’ by Lil Nas X yet, but there may be a chance that you’re not familiar with the story behind the song.
The rapper released ‘Old Town Road’ in late 2018, a country/rap song that immediately shot to the top of the country charts.
Billboard then removed the song from the charts, as it wasn’t deemed country enough.
So Lil Nas X decided to get country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus on board to feature on the song, which satisfied Billboard enough to the point that it was placed back on the country charts, and it got to number one in the overall charts as well.
The song is stupidly catchy, and Lil Nas X himself seems like a bit of a legend, which is evident in the video below.
He showed up to Lander Elementary School in Ohio earlier this week, and the kids absolutely adored him.
The kids literally know every single word to the song and it’s incredible to watch him in perform in what he referred to as “the biggest show of his life”.
