Elba plays a former DJ who is now a full-time nanny.
Idris Elba is a man of many talents.
These days, he is probably best known for his portrayal of Luther in the hit BBC show, but as well as that, he has had some majors role in a number of movies in the MCU, and to a lot of people he will always be Stringer Bell from The Wire.
Oh, and he’s pretty funny on the Sky ads.
But on top of all of that, he’s also a successful musical artist.
Most recently he had a strong verse on a new Wiley and Sean Paul song, and he regularly DJs at massive festivals all around the world.
So, playing a DJ in this brand new Netflix comedy series shouldn’t be all that foreign to him.
Playing a DJ-turned-nanny however, might be a little bit different.
In Turn Up Charlie, we see Idris Elba’s life drastically change, as he goes from a successful DJ to a full-time nanny for his famous best friend’s wild 11-year-old daughter.
The trailer even features a cameo from the one and only Craig David.
